Not at all!

All of my products are anhydrous, meaning they’re made without water. That doesn’t make them heavy; it simply means every ingredient has a purpose. The oils, butters, and esters I use are lightweight, non-comedogenic, and chosen specifically for mature, dry, and sensitive skin. They absorb beautifully, soften the skin, and support the skin barrier without leaving a greasy film.

Heavy, pore clogging products usually come from using butters and oils that are high on the comedogenic scale, occlusive waxes, petroleum jelly (derived from petroleum!!), or overly rich synthetic emollients; none of which I use. Instead, my formulas rely on plant butters, esters, and botanical oils that are structurally similar to the skin’s own lipids, allowing them to melt in, not sit on top.

Because these products are concentrated and multi-functional, you actually use less than you would with a traditional water-based cream. A small amount spreads easily, absorbs cleanly, and leaves the skin cushioned not coated.

In short: Anhydrous does not mean heavy. It means intentional, concentrated, and designed to support the skin without clogging pores or causing breakouts.

Many women notice a softer feel to their skin and a natural plumping effect early on, thanks to Linefill™ and the emollient, skin‑supportive oils and butters in each formula. With consistent use, most people begin to see visible improvements within 4–6 weeks, including a reduction in the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

You may also start noticing the firming, lifting, and toning benefits as the ingredients continue to support the skin’s natural rhythm of renewal.

Because my formulas are made with natural, plant‑based butters and oils, slight variations in color, texture, or scent are completely normal. These ingredients are not standardized the way synthetic materials are their appearance can shift depending on the season, the amount of rainfall, the region they were harvested from, and even the natural pigments present in each batch.

These variations don’t affect the quality or performance of the cream. In fact,
they’re a sign that the ingredients are real, unrefined, and minimally processed, just as nature created them. I never use bleaching agents, stabilizing synthetics, or artificial fragrances to force uniformity, because those would compromise the integrity of the formula.

Every jar is crafted with the same ratios, the same method, and the same intention; therefore while the color or texture may vary slightly from batch to batch, the results and experience remain consistent.

Because my formulas are made with natural plant butters, a slight “crystallized” or grainy texture can occasionally occur. This happens when certain butters cool at different rates and form tiny crystals — a completely natural process that doesn’t affect the quality, safety, or performance of the product.

I take great care in how I process and cool each batch to significantly reduce or eliminate the potential for crystallization. However, with real, unrefined ingredients, a small amount of variation is normal and simply reflects the natural structure
of the butters themselves.

If crystallization does occur, it’s harmless and will melt instantly as you massage the balm into your skin. The results and benefits remain exactly the same.

Because my formulas are anhydrous and made with natural plant butters, you may notice small seasonal shifts in texture. Butters like kokum, kpangnan, and mango naturally respond to temperature changes they soften in warmer months and become a bit firmer in cooler weather. This is completely normal and does not
affect the quality or performance of the balm.

I formulate each product with Cera Bellina, esters, and carefully balanced oils to keep the texture as stable and consistent as possible throughout the year. These ingredients help minimize seasonal changes, but with real, unrefined butters, a slight variation is expected.

If your balm feels a little firmer in winter, simply warm a small amount between your fingertips and it will melt instantly and apply just as smoothly. The results and benefits remain exactly the same in every season.

Rebecca’s Essentials is not a certified organic brand. Organic certification is a complex, expensive, and time‑intensive process that isn’t practical for many small, founder‑led businesses.

However, the majority of the ingredients I use are certified organic, sourced from reputable suppliers who follow strict standards for purity, sustainability, and responsible farming. I choose each ingredient based on quality, performance, and how it supports mature, dry, and sensitive skin — not based on marketing labels.

My formulas are made with real plant oils, butters, extracts, and CO₂‑derived actives, many of which are available in certified organic form. When an ingredient isn’t organic, it’s typically because:

• the organic version is not available or not stable enough for the formula
• the non‑organic version is identical in purity and performance
• the supplier follows responsible farming practices even without certification

Every ingredient is selected intentionally, with the same care and standards you’d expect from a luxury, founder‑crafted brand.

Most Rebecca’s Essentials products do not require preservatives because they are anhydrous (made without water). Water is what allows bacteria, mold, and yeast to grow, so when a formula contains only oils, butters, esters, and CO₂ extracts, a traditional preservative isn’t necessary.

The only exception is the cleansing bar, which is also anhydrous but regularly comes into contact with water during use. For that reason, I include a natural, broad‑spectrum preservative to keep the product safe and stable once it’s introduced to moisture.

Even though my other products don’t need preservatives, I still use two supportive ingredients:

• Tocopherol (Vitamin E)
  
  This is an antioxidant, not a preservative. It helps slow the natural oxidation of plant oils, keeping them fresh and maintaining their quality over time.
  
  
• Elderberry Phytocide
  
  This is a natural antioxidant with antimicrobial properties. In anhydrous formulas, it helps protect delicate oils from oxidation and adds an extra layer of stability without the need for synthetic preservatives.

Together, these ingredients help maintain the integrity of the formulas while keeping them gentle, effective, and suitable for sensitive skin without adding unnecessary components.

All Rebecca’s Essentials formulas are anhydrous, meaning they contain no water and therefore do not require a traditional preservative system. With the exception of cleansing bars and powder cleansers which come into contact with water during use my products rely on gentle, naturally derived antioxidants to help maintain freshness and stability.

Because everything is handcrafted in small batches, most products remain effective for up to a year from the date they’re made; but please don’t tuck them away for months. Your skin deserves the good stuff now! Most full‑size products are designed to last 8–10 weeks with regular use. They’re at their absolute best when you begin using them soon after they arrive.

Cleansing bars and powder cleansers include a gentle, naturally derived preservative for safety.

All other products are anhydrous and do not require preservatives at all. I never use synthetic preservatives or harsh stabilizers.

Because I don’t formulate like big brands. My products are made with: fresh, cold‑pressed oils; plant butters, fruit‑seed ingredients rich in natural antioxidants. No fillers, no heavy stabilizers, no synthetic fragrance and minimal, gentle preservation only where absolutely necessary.

This protects your skin not a warehouse shelf.

To maintain freshness, keep lids tightly closed, store in a cool, dry place and avoid direct sunlight and heat. Also be sure to use clean, dry hands or a spatula when dipping into jars

Miron glass already provides excellent protection from light and oxidation.

Natural formulas can shift slightly; a subtle change in color, aroma, or texture is normal and doesn’t affect performance. If you ever notice something that feels unusual, reach out and I’ll take care of you.
