Why anhydrous face oils?  There are many benefits to using anyhydrous face oils, especially for mature skin. As we get older most of our fine lines and wrinkles become much more pronounced due to, among other things, the moisture barrier in our skin breaking down and our skin drying out.

Anhydrous face oils contain no water, are lipophilic (“fat loving”) and pass though the lipid layer of the skin faster. Plant based oils contain fatty acids and other beneficial ingredients such as phytosterols, vitamins, carotenoids and squalane. Fatty acids penetrate the upper layers of the epidermis and assist the skin to function properly and improve its condition and appearance.

When oil is applied to the skin it fills up the small spaces between epidermal cells.  This results in the skin feeling smoother, softer, and more plumped. Some facial oils in our collection are occlusive and form a thin layer on the surface of the skin preventing moisture loss through evaporation.

Many people think of a heavy, greasy feeling when they think of oils. This is thanks to the presence of parabens and fillers. However, when you use oils with the appropriate paraben free and all-natural chemical composition, that is not the case.  A quality face oil should be comprised of oils and active botanicals that address specific skin challenges and have properties such as light weight and fast absorbing. A face oil should leave the skin soft and dewy, not greasy.
